Perfect Just The Way You Are

It seems like everywhere you turn people are wanting to be someone different than who God created them to be. For example, skinny people want to put on a few pounds, most of us want to shed more than a few. People with curly hair want straight hair. People with fair skin want to be darker. People with dark skin want to have lighter colored skin.

And the list goes on and on doesn’t it?

But have you ever stopped to think that you are perfect just the way you are?

My granddad used to say that, “God only made so many perfect heads, and the ones he messed up on he covered with hair.” I understand while theologically that might not be accurate, it sure is funny.

The point is, my granddad understood something that most of us are endlessly striving to fix. You Are Perfect Just The Way You Are. Nothing more needs to be added or changed. You don’t have to change your hair color, buy expensive nails or clothes trying to be like that photo-shopped person you see on the cover of a magazine.

Quit Trying To Be A Cheap Imitation and Instead Be A Great Original.

The world needs you to be the person God created you to be. But more than that, your family needs you to be you. Your spouse, your children, your employer, and your church all are waiting for the real you to rise up!

You are smart. You are creative. You are beautiful. You are talented. You are more than a number, a size, or a like. God created you just the way he wanted you to be. The problem is life happened, and over the years you suppressed the real you.

My challenge to you this week is to take some time and pray. Maybe just turn your phone off and spend some time with God, being quite. Listen to the still small voice in your head. Write the ideas that come to you down. Dream Again!

Remember what it was like when you were a kid? I bet you had a vivid imagination and nothing was impossible. But what happened?

Let me assure you that you are just as creative today as you were then. You just stopped using that creativity.

After you spend some time with God being quiet and listening, I want you to do something you have not done in a really long time. Dare to Dream Again. Remember, you are perfect just the way you are.

Be Blessed,

Chris Chandler
